Project Documentation & Vision

Documenting the extensive landscaping project for The Modern School, Faridabad, designed by multidisciplinary architects Yashica Mangla and Kapil Mangla of Earth Worth Design Lab, was an inspiring exercise in capturing living architecture and ecological maturation. Conceived and planted by the designers nearly three years prior to our shoot, this campus stands today as a fully realized, lush green educational sanctuary.

Every botanical and spatial element was meticulously planned: boundary walls lined with mature trees, healthy shrubs and welcoming palm trees positioned near the entrance, and expansive green turf covering beautification lawns and the football field. Far beyond mere aesthetic beautification, the landscape serves a functional purpose—providing heavy, cooling natural shade across open areas. Consciously selected seasonal flowers, fruit-bearing trees, and interactive common zones (including a vibrant student food van positioned under a shaded tree canopy alongside outdoor benches) foster a nurturing, collaborative, and holistic environment for students to learn and thrive.

The Orange Images Photography USP & Execution Strategy (Full-Day Natural Daylight & Golden Hour Workflow)

Aligning with our Master Project SOP, our execution strategy for this expansive outdoor campus was tailored to a comprehensive, full-day daylight and golden hour workflow spanning from morning until approximately 6:00 PM:

• Extended Full-Day Field Duration: Dedicating an entire day allowed us to track the sun’s trajectory across different campus sectors, capturing how natural sunlight interacts with mature canopies, shaded walkways, and open lawns.

• Morning Natural Light Integration (Vibrant Growth & Scale): Morning shots were captured to illuminate the healthy shrubs, vibrant grasses, entrance palm trees, and the expansive greenery of the sports and lawn zones with crisp, clean daylight.

• Golden Hour Illumination (Warmth & Textural Depth): Instead of standard evening twilight, the shoot was finalized during the warm golden hours leading up to evening. This sunlight angle cast long, elegant shadows and warm golden highlights across the fruit-bearing trees and structural landscaping.

• Deliberate Design Justification: Capturing the campus three years post-implementation allowed us to visually validate the architects’ long-term vision—showing how consciously chosen flora, strategic boundary planting, and student-centric spaces (like the colorful food van station) have matured into a thriving ecosystem.

Making the Images Impactful

To ensure the portfolio visuals for The Modern School landscaping project stand out online and showcase institutional landscape architecture at its finest, we utilized targeted photographic strategies:

• Capturing Three Years of Botanical Maturation: Utilizing wide and medium angles to emphasize how small planted saplings have grown into robust, shade-giving trees that completely transform the campus envelope.

• Highlighting Multi-Zone Campus Diversity: Documenting the seamless flow between grand entrance palms, boundary tree lines, beautification lawns, sports turf, and interactive student spaces like the shaded food van seating area.

• Leveraging Golden Hour Textures: Employing natural golden-hour illumination to accentuate the rich colors of seasonal flowers, fruit textures, and the intricate play of light and shadow filtering through mature foliage.

A Matured Educational Ecosystem

Today, the landscaping at The Modern School, Faridabad, stands as a benchmark for institutional environmental design, proving that thoughtful, long-term landscape planning creates spaces that are both deeply functional and emotionally resonant.
