Documenting Fateh Garh Udaipur, a magnificent Heritage Renaissance Resort perched atop the Aravalli ranges, was an extraordinary undertaking in capturing Indian architectural heritage blended with sustainable luxury. Built on strict Vastu principles and celebrated for its groundbreaking stone-by-stone historical transplantation, Fateh Garh offers a regal sanctuary overlooking Udaipur’s iconic lakes, palaces, and hills.

Our documentation assignment focused entirely on the resort’s sprawling exteriors, expansive heritage suites, plunge pool layouts, vintage car displays, and dramatic landscape integration. Every frame was crafted to communicate the resort’s commitment to ethical tourism, cultural depth, and timeless stone craftsmanship, honoring the original vision of a sustainable palace built for the modern era.

The 48-Hour Non-Stop Execution Workflow: From Full Moon Nights to Sunrise

Capturing a massive heritage resort like Fateh Garh required an intense, continuous 48-hour execution window without sleep, designed to exploit every shifting celestial and natural lighting condition across the Aravalli topography:

• Moonlit & Full Moon Night Photography: We deliberately timed our shoot to coincide with a full moon night. Working through the dark, we captured rare, breathtaking moonlit exterior frames featuring a clear blue sky and a cool blue tone washing over the palace stone.

• Celestial Transitions (Moonrise & Moonset): Moving through the night and early morning hours, our team tracked and captured precise moonrise and moonset sequences over the valley, creating a rare cinematic dialogue between heritage architecture and the night sky.

• Dawn, Sunrise & Golden Hour Scaling: As night gave way to morning, we immediately transitioned to crisp sunrise lighting, using directional early-light scaling to bring out the deep textures of the transplanted stone masonry and the sweeping valleys below.

• Midday, Magenta Sunsets & Blue Hour: Throughout the blazing afternoon and into evening, we captured intense golden sunlight, dynamic magenta-orange sunset skies, and deep blue-hour twilight tones that highlight the resort’s unmatched atmospheric presence.
